Professional English & Business Communication
Professional English & Business Communication

Exec Business English combines professional English development with business skills coaching and contemporary subject knowledge. Rather than following a single standard coursebook, we have developed our own Business English curriculum and supporting learning resources. These provide a structured foundation that can then be adapted to each client's English level, professional role, industry and objectives.
Structured learning with a professional focus
Our Business English curriculum has been developed around the communication requirements professionals encounter in the workplace. It covers areas such as meetings, presentations, negotiation, professional writing, leadership communication, stakeholder management, networking and international business. The curriculum provides progression across different levels of English ability, while allowing individual programmes to concentrate on the areas most relevant to the learner.
Develop the skill, not just the vocabulary
Effective professional communication requires more than knowing the correct English. For this reason, Exec Business English combines language development with practical business coaching.
Our business coaching resources examine recognised professional and academic best practice in areas such as presentations, meetings, negotiation, leadership, stakeholder communication and influencing.
This allows clients to develop both the business skill itself and the English needed to apply it effectively.
Learn through subjects that matter
For professionals working in technology and innovation, English development can be combined with greater awareness of important new and emerging technologies. Exec Business English has developed a growing library of technology factsheets covering subjects including artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, blockchain, photonics, multiomics and other emerging technologies. These resources explain the technology, key terminology, applications, opportunities, limitations and important debates. They provide relevant material for discussion while developing the language needed to communicate confidently about technological change.
From learning to doing
Learning becomes more valuable when it can be applied directly to the client's professional environment. Sessions can use realistic business scenarios or focus on actual requirements such as an upcoming presentation, meeting, negotiation, project discussion or client engagement. Where a client has an important upcoming business requirement, the programme can adapt to help prepare for it.
Built around your objectives
The curriculum provides the structure, but it does not dictate an identical programme for every client.
A programme can take account of:
English level • Professional role • Industry • Business skills • Technology interests • Immediate objectives • International requirements
This allows us to combine different elements of the Exec Business English approach according to what will provide the greatest practical benefit.
